Members of Voronezh Eparchy of Moscow Patriarchy of Russian Orthodox Church express their fears that Norbekov, the author of some system of alternative treatment, is going to turn Voronezh into the center of his movement. On the eve of Mirzakarim Norbekov, who is known as an autor of a system of treatment, which is an alternative to the traditional medicine, was supposed to come to Voronezh, the local eparchy of Moscow Patriarchy of Russian Orthodox Church made addressed the citizens to prevent residents from attending these lections and trainings, correspondents of “Portal-Credo.ru” tell. Eparchy’s document calls Norbekov’s “Institute” “an eclectic sect, which is formed as a kind of multi-level training company <…> and combines elements of psychological cult, pseudo-scientific theories, occult healing methods and fake “ Sufi practices”. The address gives this characteristics to the “Institute of Self-Healing of Human” using various materials of anti-cultic “Totalitarian Cults as a Hazard of Religious Extremism” and “Totalitarian Cults and Democratic State” international scientific and practical conferences, which took place in Ekaterinburg, 9-11.12.2002 and in Novosibirsk, 9-11.11.2004. Voronezh Eparchy stresses that “Institute of Self-Healing of Human” was considered to be one of the most common-spread one of destructive cults or groups which possess most features of destructive cults among ones in Russian Federation. “The one, who got involved into the “Institute of Self-Healing of Human” is constantly manipulated till he feels fully dependant; he is persuaded that his future life is impossible without using these practices, and that it is impossible to reach success outside the cult. He is persuaded that Norbekov’s system would provide boundless opportunities, and to succeed he should practice thoroughly and pay money for more and more courses. People are threatened that they would lose their only chance to succeed if he stopped practicing Norbekov’s system”, they say in the eparchy. As Evgeniy Lishchenyuk, the priest, and the head of Voronezh Eparchy of the Moscow Patriarchy of the Russian Orthodox Church and the head of the local department of “Russian Association for Research of the Cults” (Alexander Dvorkin is the head of this organization) told “Portal-Credo.Ru”’s correspondents, that they are not going to carry out any special actions of protest, they are just going to give information, which is an alternative to advertisement. “We think it is enough”, he told. But the priest told that they might take stricter precautions. He told that the eparchy is worried with the fact that “Norbekov claims himself to be an Orthodox, and that people of all religions visit his trainings and that Norbrkov’s courses are very common-spread in Voronezh, moreover, Norbekov himself reads seminars there frequently. So, it looks like they are going to turn the city into the branch department of the “Institute of Self-Healing of Human”. Mirzakarim Norbekov claims that the aim of his psychological and medical system is to broaden humans’ ability for self-improvement and self-cognition. In his system the continuity of so called “way masters’” traditions play the key role. Norbekov tells it is more than eight thousand years old. The organization’s data shows that it has its training centers in more than 200 cities of Russia, post-soviet countries and overseas. More than 2 million people attend these courses. During the recent years there used to be more adverts of the “Institute of Self-Healing of Human” throughout Voronezh, regardless to Norbekov’s expected visits. Source: Portal-Credo |
