How can destructive cultic organization are used as informative weapon in war between super states Since ancient times humanity is constantly improving means of holding war. It is now clear that bloody fights and mass extirpation of ones enemy is not the only and not the best way to win. The main weapon in “cold war” between the USA and the USSR was the informational influence on soviet population. And the huge empire fell without a shot. Nowadays international cultic organizations have become an invaluable weapon of psychological influence. “Falun Dafa” has become one of such weapons. When suppressors are away What are the advantages of nontraditional cults as means of influence on mass consciousness? The main aim of the informational war is influencing human views, opinions, spirits, and value orientations in order to reach the final goal which is determined by strategic plan of foreign policy of state-aggressor. It is known that religious doctrines have always been the main ideology for believers. Cultic doctrine is the direct way for obstructing the “required” ways of thinking which lead to destruction of civil and national sense of justice. There are separate ways of influence for those who are out of cult (outer people). These are ritual manifestations, parades, cultic holidays (Krishnaits, “Falun Gong”); involvement into training systems and introduction into managing (Habbard’s administrative system); using the theme of health, i.e. hope for being cured (charismatic cults). In short, there is an individual approach to each object. Besides, it is very easy to legalize such weapon and place it right in city streets. Finally, we have total democracy and “immense” freedom of religion! In soviet times “enemies’ voices” were suppressed; and now all “suppressors” are away. It is understood both in direct and figurative meanings. “Voice of America” and “German Wave” cannot surprise us; but street “performances” of different oriental cults still are exotic for us, and they do attract many spectators. And if one does not want to see that? Then stay at home! Dangerous for health and life “Falun Dafa” (“Falun Gong”) cult appeared in early 90s in China. In 1992 it was registered in Zigong, China research centre. This cult is a mix of personal world perception of Li Hunchji, its leader, and elements of Daoism, Bubbhism and some other oriental believes. The distribution of newly created religion in Australia, the USA Canada and Europe starts after publishing of Li Hunchji’s book “Chzhuan Falun” in 1994. “Falun Dafa” becomes a fully formed religious-commercial cult with remarkable features of mysticism and leaders power by middle 90s. But, there is a great splash of suicides among its followers. And when the amount exceed half thousand people, China authorities were to attract coercive structures as it was a question of country’s national security. The investigation revealed illegal businesses, espionage in favor of foreign countries; and there also were serious problems in psychological health of some adepts. The organization was considered to be dangerous for safety and moral; it is also harmful for human’s health. Li Hunchji escaped to the USA in 1998, when the situation with spreading of heretical cult dangerous for national safety of China became heated; there he got citizenship very quickly. Half year later (on July, 22, 1999) the organization was forbidden and authorities signed an order to arrest the “overseas teacher”. But it did nothing good. Several adepts tried to burn themselves on one of the squares in Beijing on January, 23, 2001; they protested against the ban of organization in China. The sect has isolated and “westernized” After the “guru” emigrated his organization started confrontation with society. Suppositions for this were taken from the Chzhuan-Falun doctrine written by “master” Li. Igor Ponkin, the participant of international round table “Informational extremism. Truth and fiction about “Falun Gong”” (Kiev, 2008), director of the institute of state-confessional relations and law of Russian Ministry of internal affairs, gives the following characteristic: - “Falun Gong” uses a number of methods in order to seize the inner from surrounding. Adepts are taught to hate those who are out of their belief. Besides, there appears a tendency for European orientation. The number of offices increases in Europe, Russia and Ukraine. Of cause, one can think it is just an expansion of well developed doctrine; but it is too hard to believe in it. Anatolij Kuzmuk, participant of Round table, candidate of judicial sciences, says: - After the control over public organizations, including transcontinental, stopped in 1991, the Aggressors realized that they can take the world right now with “bare hands”. We’ll add: especially if such organization has a powerful ally and financial donor. China is attacked from outside It is easy to “define” this very donor. The fact of special protection to Mr. Li from American authorities causes serious thoughts. The next step is to analyze peculiarities of “Falun Dafa” functioning in “occupied” countries. According to specialists, there are two main vectors in their activity. And the main one is aggressive discredit of Chinese Communist Party, authorities, and the whole nation. The propaganda of teaching is secondary. Sectarians piquet Chinese embassies in all countries (where they have received a permission for that); they stage barbarities which are said to be committed towards “Falun dafa” followers in China (tortures, organ extraction). Michail Vershynin, the expert of Russian internet-project www.sektam.net, says that 80% of information on “Falun Dafa” web-sites contains criticism of Chinese authorities. It is clear that their work is controlled by specialists of neuro-linguistic programming; besides there is a global context. Information repeats in Internet, leaflets and mass-media. There does exist common strategy. And now let’s recall the fact that China is developing very quickly; and it has already taken leading lines in many industrial branches. In this case the country will be subjected to informational attacks from its competitors, who cannot beat Asiatic by means of economic methods. And so “Falun Gong” becomes almost ideal weapon; about its advantages we have already told at the beginning of the article. There are many direct and indirect proofs that organization gets financial support from overseas. And it is managed from overseas too. There can be no other variant as far as its leader settled down right there. But we now speak about other things. And what about the second “minor” vector of “Falun Dafa” activity? Maybe, the initially humane idea was disfigured because of political interests? In any case the distribution of such ideas will lead to ignorance, misbalance in social, family and interpersonal relations. In its turn this will lead to violation of traditional moral despite the fact of one’s attitude towards it. Natalia Lipovskaya, doctor of governmental management sciences, continues this thought: “Analyses shows that demonstrations of tortures which are said to be committed towards “Falun Dafa” followers create socio-psychological tension; and these are intolerable intrusion into citizens’ personal lives.” Yellowness sneaked up insensibly Ukraine came across Li Hunchji’s teaching in 1997 for the first time. Here “Falun Dafa” followers call themselves “practitioners”; and ordinary people call them “men in yellow”. At the very beginning the organization said it to be non-religious, non-political and non-commercial; they said they profess the principle of “Truth Kind Patience”. Later this organization was registered as public one; this gives it the right to take part in political actions and opening the account with a bank. The orientation of the “Falun dafa” activity is the same, i.e. discredit of China, “advertisement” of barbarities towards Li Hunchji followers. It appeared that no one of Ukrainian adepts has ever visited China; and they know about barbarities just from words. The information which is passed to them “from above” cannot be understood by any sensible person. There are rumors that there is some Chinese hospital which has concentration camp with brick crematorium pipe for 6000 followers. But eye-witnesses tell that any one can get there from six sides. And the pipe serves for hospital boiler-room. Josef Gebbels, main ideologist of Nazi Germany, has said once: “Our lie is to be terrible if we want people to believe us.” Break in Dnepropetrovsk Dnepropetrovsk is one of main places where “Falun Dafa” grows; public organization “Falun Dafa System” was registered here in 2004. At first people look at strange people who were practicing some gymnastics in crowded places. But then a number of “bloody actions” took place in different parts of the city, including the main Lenin Square. On June, 21, 2009 there was a procession with drums and flying flags with turned swastika (attributes of Nazi Germany). We have already written about how many problems it caused for city authorities (http://ajr.org.ua/?p=1621). City inhabitants realized that the case is even more than serious; but they could do nothing. Sergey Bukin, the head of “Flun Dafa System. Ltd.”, told journalists: “What are differences between us and other political formations?” Thanks to him Ukraine can face serious international conflict and get economic sanctions. These actions can be one of aspects of “pro-American” politics of Victor Jushchenko, former president. There were almost no relations between Ukraine and China while his government. On the other hand it is a result of informational war which the USA holds against China on the territory of third country. But the latter one does not think it can threaten its own safety. Willingness for struggle is still a question So, is it a kind of two in one? On one hand, it is a great method for discrediting the opponent; on the other hand, it is an officially registered public organization which professes pleading principle - Truth Kind Patience. What prevents authorities to forbid the functioning of destructive cult in Ukraine? It is not so easy. While the round table Oleg Diachok, docent of department of state law of Ukrainian Custom Service Academy, told: “under certain circumstances actions of the organization can be classified as violation of Article 300 part 1 of the Criminal Code which tells about import and distribution of works which propagandize violence and cruelty. There are reasons for consider the question of banning the activity of “Falun Dafa System” public organization in court.” But the problem is that religious organization with great dash of politics could get the status of public organization. Religious propaganda is permitted only in special places; and representatives of public organization have just to coordinate their actions with city authorities. And this is not the only example. One should speak of creation of powerful system of defense. Its main elements may become Ministry of Internal Affairs and Justice, National Security Council and Safety Service of Ukraine. But it is possible only by developing of governmental strategy of informational withstand which we do not have yet. By the way According to opinion of Dnepropetrovsk city center Assistance to victims of destructive cults “Dialog” specialists, leaflets are considered to be manipulative methods. They contain slandering of cult’s opponents. The text is not logically coherent; it provokes sense of tension, guilt and can cause a splash of aggression. The writer definitely has problems with language, or maybe with mental health.
